Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest 182 meters engineering marvel, the height is not only the phoenix but also the engineering astonishment to complete in a record time of 33 months. The Statue of Unity is the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel the first Deputy Prime Minister of India.

Sardar Patel’s statue or the Statue of Unity is located near the Narmada Dam in the Gujarat state of India. The foundation stone for the project was laid by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 31st October 2013, and the statue was inaugurated on 31st October 2018 on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary.

1: Development Cost, Time and Material

The Statue of Unity is built by Larsen & Toubro & Ltd at a cost of ₹ 2989 crore. The structure is made up of 180,000 cubic meters cement and concrete, 18,500 tones reinforced steel and 6,500 tones structured steal at its interior, also 1,700 tones bronze and 1,850 tones bronze cladding on its exterior.

The Statue of Unity took 33 months to complete which is a world record of fastest development of any statue, while China’s Spring Temple Buddha statue took 11 years.
